About Vivian C. Rodriguez

I have practiced law in Florida since 1988.  My practice has always included family law, and in the last seven or eight years I have chosen it as the only area of practice.

It has been my privilege to help many people navigate the Court system as best as possible given their situation and existing law when the case has been processed through the system.

When you retain me as your divorce or parternity lawyer, my job is to zealously represent you.  In addition, I will give you a balanced assessment of your case throughout the representation so you can make informed decisions that you deem to be in your best interest.  Once you determined what you want to do based on my advice and our discussions, my job is to get it for you within the bounds of the law and professional rules, always keeping an eye out for other--perhaps better or more sensible--approaches to getting you what you want.

Alternatives to litigation, like mediation and collaborative law, are making inroads into our culture as viable means of solving disputes, particularly family disputes.  For the family this can be a good thing, especially when there are children involved.  I am excited about these developments and think they have a lot of potential to  do good in both safeguarding a person's legal rights in the family law arena as well as having a better chance to preserve family and filial relationships.

I hope you will find this site useful in finding information on family legal issues, whether you are headed to court or want to use any of the other avenues available to resolve disputes.  I will be adding more links that I think may be helpful in providing general information.  However, always remember that this information is provided as a starting point in your search for information and is not meant as legal advice, and it does not create an attorney-client relationship--for that you should contact a family lawyer in your local area.
